Speed painting... I was supposed to be studying for exams... but I let my creative side get the better of me and this little guy came to be.
I tried mixing a whole range of wacko dragonish features together that I had stored away in my memory (after having seen thousands of dragon pictures, illustrations, movies and games in the past years, practically throughout my entire life), picking out what I thought would look cool.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that purple with fluro green has probably been done millions of times, but this guy didn't WANT to be any other colour. Nothing else seemed to fit. Heh heh, he'd make a good dragon elder for Legend of Spyro, wouldn't he? Except he doesn't look...old.
I am going to call him Ragus. That is "sugar" backwards since that's what I've been eating too much of this week. SUGAR RUSH!!!
Time: 2.5 hours SO FAST! (sugar helps... really it does) Date: Tuesday night, 21st Oct, 08 Medium: mechanical pencil lineart, coloured and shading with Photoshop Elements 3 Art (c)
P.S. And yeah, I KNOW the green colour isn't shining off his skin! I was just afraid I'd kill the picture if I tried to do that, and the purple looked cool anyway. And his other wing IS there... it's...uhhh...invisible!
Nah, if it looks great why not to use it? Someone has always used certain color combination somewhere so I wouldn't bother to avoid colors I like because of that.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
